After finding success with their online news site and digital publications, the owners of Speed on the Water commissioned a coffee-table-quality print edition showcasing the best of the year. I was given full creative freedom to define the publication’s style and format, and approached the project with a modern, restrained design that prioritized boats and lifestyle photography over heavy graphic embellishment. The response from both readers and advertisers was overwhelmingly positive, and what began as a one-off print edition is now in its tenth year of publication.
