For their 30th anniversary event, the marketing directors for the St. Paul Ice Fishing & Winter Sports Show felt it was time for a logo refresh. The only caveat was that the logo retain the general color scheme and not be too far of a departure from the previous design. They also wanted something that looked interesting enough to use on branded apparel and giveaways. For this solution I opted to flatten the overall format and do away with feathered drop shadows and shading, using solid color blocks instead while still giving it some depth.
